Are you getting enough??

SLEEP, I am talking about sleep here…

Sleep has a massive effect on weight loss but are you getting enough?

Did you know that along with eating right and exercising, getting quality sleep is also an important part of weight management!!??.

Studies have shown that people who are sleep deprived tend to weigh more and have more trouble losing weight than those who get adequate rest, even when they follow the same diet.

When you don’t get enough sleep your body over produces the hunger hormone Ghrelin and decreases levels of the satiety/fullness hormone Leptin- which can lead to over eating and weight gain.

Not only that it can trigger a cortisol spike and this stress hormone signals your body to conserve energy to fuel your waking hours- meaning that you’re more likely to hold on to fat.

There’s no exact amount of sleep for each person, but it’s recommended that most people need between 7-9 hours each night to keep their metabolism in check..

So take that early night or enjoy that lie-in, your body will thank you for it in the long run!!
